Mr. Saliba has become a nationally recognized consultant on the emergence and functions of electronic markets, and is often quoted in such publications as the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, and The New York Times. He is frequently invited to speak at industry forums such as events sponsored by the Futures Industry Association and the Futures Magazine conferences, predominantly on past and potential events in electronic trading of derivatives.

Mr. Saliba began his career trading equity options as an independent market maker on the floor of the Chicago Board Options Exchange in 1979. Over the next 13 years, he gained extensive experience in the trading of currencies, equities and S&P 500 contracts. In each of these markets Mr. Saliba emerged as a dominant presence. Eventually, he focused his attention on the trading of index products, and quickly acquired the traded volume to be considered one of the top traders in that fast-paced market.

When the stock market collapsed in October 1987, Mr. Saliba's system of disciplined, diligent trading, achieved success while other option trading formats failed. This success earned him a place in the national bestseller, Market Wizards, by Jack Schwager.

In the wake of the crash of 1987, Mr. Saliba realized that the options trading industry would continue to grow in a variety of levels and directions. He concluded that a solid education of the fundamentals of derivatives trading would provide the cornerstone for such growth. With this in mind, Mr. Saliba formed the internationally recognized International Trading Institute (ITI), in 1989. The hallmark of the ITI curriculum is the fostering of the attitudes of rigor and discipline in trading and risk-management. During the past 15 years, ITI has trained over 3000 market participants from major financial institutions throughout the world.
